ITI Beirut Study Club Explores the Latest Advances in Peri-Implant Bone Loss and Peri-Implantitis

On June 25, 2026, Prodent proudly hosted the ITI Middle East Section – Beirut Study Club, bringing together implant dentistry professionals for an engaging evening of scientific learning and clinical discussion. The event featured two distinguished Lebanese experts, Prof. Georges Tawil and Dr. Joseph Ryan Younes, who shared evidence-based insights into one of the most relevant topics in modern implant dentistry: peri-implant bone loss and peri-implantitis.

Prof. Georges Tawil opened the session with a comprehensive lecture titled “Peri-implant Bone Loss: From Diagnosis to Treatment. Where Do We Stand Today?”, reviewing the latest concepts in diagnosis, treatment planning, and current clinical evidence surrounding peri-implant bone loss. His presentation provided attendees with valuable perspectives on today’s therapeutic approaches and long-term implant success.

Building on these foundations, Dr. Joseph Ryan Younes presented “Recognize, Diagnose, Treat: A Clinician’s Guide to Peri-Implantitis,” offering practical protocols for the early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective management of peri-implant disease. The session emphasized the importance of timely intervention and evidence-based decision-making in everyday clinical practice.

Moderated by Dr. Carole Chakar and Dr. Bassam Borgi, Directors of the ITI Beirut Study Club, the evening concluded with an interactive discussion that encouraged participants to exchange clinical experiences, ask questions, and explore real-world treatment strategies.

At Prodent, we are honored to support the International Team for Implantology (ITI) in delivering high-quality continuing education that empowers clinicians to stay at the forefront of implant dentistry. We extend our sincere thanks to the speakers, moderators, and all attendees whose active participation contributed to another successful and enriching ITI Beirut Study Club.
